Pastor Tim Coop
Chairman
Tim is a pastor at Pantano Christian Church, where he served as senior pastor for 14 years, and is currently serving there as Pastor of Community and Pastoral Development. Tim has worked closely with Renewal for many years, referring numerous people for counseling. His love for hurting people and desire to provide the community with this outstanding resource has motivated Tim to serve on Renewal’s board.
Pastor Angie McCarty
Vice Chairman
Angie McCarty is the Associate Pastor at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. St. Paul's has hosted many retreats, workshops and classes led by Renewal counselors. After referring many of her church members to Renewal and hearing the excellent feedback that each person has provided, Angie feels it is time to give back to the organization that has given so richly to her church and community. Angie lives on the East side of Tucson with her husband Sam and two preschool aged children, Addison and Jackson.
Nelson Sandoval, M.D.
Nelson is an internal medicine doctor serving the Tucson community. He is warm and loving in his practice and brings those same qualities to his service on Renewal's board, along with a keen sense for business. Nelson became familiar with Renewal a number of years ago and began using them as his primary referral source for mental health counseling. As he heard back from his patients about their positive experience at Renewal, he realized his own desire to contribute to the same organization that has helped so many of his patients.
Tom Griffin, M.D.
Tom is a family physician with a subspecialty in mood disorders. He also serves as an elder for Casas Church (formerly Casas Adobes Baptist Church) in Oro Valley. He received both his undergraduate degree in psychology and his MD from the University of Arizona and has practiced in Arizona for the last 35 years. Besides practicing medicine, Tom has had several medical administrative positions and currently serves on the board of directors of Carondelet Medical Group and also serves as one of its 3 regional medical directors. He was introduced to Renewal by his patients several years ago and was attracted to helping Renewal because of the dramatic improvement in outcomes he sees when counselors and physicians collaborate in providing care for patients.
Wanda Stauffacher
Wanda s a retired teacher and school counselor. She enjoyed private practice as a therapist for several years after retirement and has been professionally involved with families and children for more than 50 years. Wanda teaches parenting classes in the community and has done so for many years. She has also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for the Pima County Juvenile Court, representing dependent children. She and her husband, Robert, are very involved with Stephen Ministries in their church as well as providing coordination and leadership for Tucson's all-city Stephen Ministries networking system. Additionally, both Wanda and Robert co -facilitate grief groups for the community at their church. Wanda has partnered with Renewal in numerous ways over the years and believes Renewal is a resource in our community that makes a difference on a daily basis.
